The Difficult Life of a Baby.

Hi! Well, it's been a pretty busy week -- Dad's writing for Kingdom of Loathing and trying to clean the house, and Mom has to work a lot, too.  They both wish they could run around a little less and play with me more. We do always find family time, but we can always use more.

But don't think I'm slacking off just because I'm a baby. Sure, I sleep a lot, but you would to if you had to do all the stuff I have to do! For starters, I have to spend time on my tummy learning to keep my head up and trying to roll over:

Then I have to practice sitting up and standing up. Standing up is my favorite, especially when I can play with my invisible hula hoop:

Then if I have any time left over, I can hang out with my Fairy Godmother, Kaia:

Or explore a little bit of outside, now that it's not colder than a very cold thing:

And, as you can see, I'm also expected to model tons of new clothes all the time. So is it any wonder that stuff like this happens?

This whole internet thing is going to make it way, way harder for me to track down and destroy all of these pictures when I'm a teenager.

The Butt of the Joke . . .

So it's come to this, has it? Mom and Dad are taking pictures of me specifically to embarrass me with when I'm older. Well, let's see how they like it when I wake up at 2 a.m. every night this week! Trust me, it's no trouble for me to add an extra feeding, with as much as I'm growing. If you ever want to sleep again, NO MORE NEKKID PICTURES!

Aside from the aforementioned attempts to humiliate me, it's been a pretty awesome week. Grandma, Great Grandma, and Grandpa came in on Friday for Easter. We had a great Easter weekend with all of my extended family, including Great-Uncle Mark and Great-Aunt Janelle, and my second cousin (or somethin') Lisa and her son, Jacob! Mom and Dad ate more ham than anyone should ever eat that weekend, so it looks like we'll be going on even more walks in the next couple of weeks.

The weather's been wonderful! It's up to 60 and 70 degrees during the day. Dad and I spend a lot of time out on the patio, and when Mom comes home we go for walks around the neighborhood. I can't wait until I can sit up in the stroller instead of lying in my car carrier!

In fact, I can't wait until I can just sit up all the time and be done with this lying on my back nonsense. I practice as often as I can -- whenever Mom or Dad is holding me, whenever I'm propped up a little bit, whenever it would be dangerous for me to suddenly fling my head backwards or forwards, that's when I practice. Dad has already had enough close calls that even though he's bald, he's going gray! It's a good thing I'm getting cuter every day, or who knows how mad he'd be.

I still don't quite have the hang of rolling over, but I'm trying. I just really, really HATE BEING ON MY STOMACH, so it's hard for me to calm down enough to roll. But I'm slowly getting better, even though it'd be way easier to just skip the crawling and get right to the walking!

Mom and Dad just posted a ton of new videos onto Youtube, too. I'm talking and moving around so much that they can't stop filming me! Of course, most of the time I stop as soon as they turn the camera on, but it's still fun to watch me just sittin' there.

What? Spring is here?!

Yes, this past weekend it finally got nice enough outside for Mom and Dad to take me for a walk. I was awake for the entire twenty minutes we were outside, and I was making this face:

You can hardly blame me, though -- there's just so much to take in! Sights and sounds and smells. Dad says it blows his mind to think about all the things I haven't done yet. He keeps saying, "you've never tasted a strawberry! You're going to love it!" I don't know why he's so fixated on strawberries, but I can't wait to try one.

Things have been pretty okay with Mom going back to work and Dad taking care of me all day. I do miss having someone's undivided attention at all times, but staring at the toys on my space mat or hanging out in the bouncer while Dad works isn't too bad. I miss Mom all day, though, and I'm always glad to see her when she comes home -- especially if it's time to eat! I'm not knockin' the bottle, but there's nothing like getting it from the source.

Not much more to report, here. Last night I had a stuffy nose and it was stuffed up all night long. Since I don't know how to blow my nose, and I don't know how to breathe out of my mouth unless I'm crying, I didn't get much sleep and neither did Mom or Dad! It's got to be weird for Dad having someone else's snoring and coughing keeping HIM up! But Mom and Dad called the pediatrician today and they said to just put a humidifier in the room and to keep sucking on my nose with the squeeze-bulb thingy. Quite frankly, I could do without that last bit!

Anyway, I've been taking a day for myself, y'know? Just sleeping, waking up to eat, maybe smiling and talking a little, but mostly sleep. I've got to keep up on my beauty sleep if I want to continue to be the world's cutest baby.

Oh, I almost forgot -- Dad found a couple of pictures of me that he hadn't posted yet, including my debut picture when I was, like, five minutes old! I think we can all be grateful that my head didn't stay that shape.
